Paranormal Activity Movie
Paranormal Activity is a 2009 supernatural horror movie that gained a large following and spawned a sequel as well. The premise of the film surrounds a young couple who experiences strange incidences within their home. They decide to put up a camera in their bedroom to capture any strange phenomena that might be occurring in their house. The footage shows supernatural occurrences such as the door banging and door closing by itself, as well as the sound of footsteps down the stairs. This eventually turns into more serious issues, such as the main characters participating in actions that they have no recollection of carrying out, such as standing in front of the bed watching the other one sleep in the middle of the night. More and more incidences like this occur, causing the couple to carry out extreme measures.
The realistic nature of the film further intensifies the fear that is evoked from the audience by the already horrific images from the video camera. It is also shot in a documentary style, which adds to the idea that these occurrences may in fact be happening all around us. Many critics have hailed Paranormal Activity as one of the scariest films of all time. Besides holding this title, Paranormal Activity is also one of the most profitable movies as it was done on a low budget, but became an instant hit at the box office.
