Modern day society and kids may laugh at these shockingly scary 1950's horror films, but truthfully, they were the scariest things around at the time. Not only do they provide a sense of nostalgia presently, but they also are capable of making your inner most child prevalent again. Grab some popcorn, kick your feet up, and get ready to enter a world of reminiscing sleepless nights from your childhood. Here are some of the best old scary movies of all times:
Dawn of the Dead (1978)
In the United States, an unknown cause created a phenomenon where it turned recently deceased human beings into flesh-eating zombies. Although the government tried to stop this phenomenon, it wasn't effective and therefore, the society collapsed and the remaining survivors seek refuge. After a horrific SWAT evacuation of an apartment complex, the four survivors refuge in an abandoned shopping mall. To make a living at least for a while, they take stock from the shopping mall, lock down the mall, arm themselves and destroy the zombies inside the shopping mall. They go through a lot of tension for over several months. One day, a gang of bikers broke into the mall, which allowed hundreds of zombies to enter inside the mall. From the gun fight with the bikers, one of the four people dies, one commits suicide and the other two escapes with a helicopter.
Dead of Night (1945)
Architect Walter Craig went to a country house party where he sees people that were in his dream. Although he never met them, he knows what's going to happen next because of his dream.
Frankenstein (1931)
Mad and obsessed scientist, Dr. Henry Frankenstein creates a monster by taking body parts from dead people. Finally, he placed a brain into the monster, and suddenly, the monster is alive. The monster escapes from the laboratory and accidently kisses a young girl that he meets by the river. The town gets very upset at the creature and tries to bring it to justice.

   Morella
Lenora travels from Boston to meet her father. Her father was at an old mansion where he is drunk, disordered and depressed. He refuses her because her mom, Morella died in childbirth. Then, Lenora finds her mother's decomposing body in the house. She stays at her father's place to take care of him. One night, Morella's spirit rises and kills Lenora. Morella is alive and this horrifies her husband. However, her body goes back to where it was and Lenora smiles as she lies on her dead father.
   The Black Cat
Montresor hates his wife and her black cat. One day, he brings his guest over to his house, and after that night, the guest and his wife become intimate. He then bury them alive in the basement.
   The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar
M. Valdemar is dying from a painful disease. He wants to alleviate his pain so he hires a hypnotist to put him under various trances. However, the hypnotist takes control of Valdemar's body and tries to marry his wife. However, Valdemar's body rises and kills the hypnotists.
The Exorcist (1973)
The Exorcist was adapted from a novel of the same title, by William Peter Blatty. The movie is about a case of an exorcism. A girl named Regan deals with demon possession and her mother fights to get her daughter back. Eventually, Regan's mother brings two priests to the house to practice exorcism. This movie became the most profitable horror movie of all time and won many awards.
